To wash the sponge:

• Take off the sponge top.
• Mix a little gentle shampoo or dish-washing liquid into the sponge and work in lightly with fingers.
• Rinse all soap thoroughly from the sponge.
• Press out any excess moisture by wrapping in a paper towel and squeezing, and lay the sponge flat on a hard surface to air dry.
• Place sponge back on the top of the pot.
