Garshana gloves are made of raw silk & used to offer the face & body a traditional Ayurvedic dry massage called garshana. Incorporating a 5-minute garshana massage into your daily routine will refresh the skin tone, stimulate the lymphatic system, increase blood circulation, combat cellulite, release accumulated toxins & increase energy.
All silk comes from the cocoon of the silkworm (actually a caterpillar). Traditional silk uses long strands & undergoes a processing treatment to give it a soft feel & shine. Unlike traditional silk, raw silk is unprocessed & uses the shorter silk fibers leftover after the spinning process. Raw silk proteins produced by the silkworm during the cocoon process remain with the fabric, and contain enzymes which are beneficial to skin & hair health. It is hypoallergenic & suitable for all types of skin. The shorter fibers give raw silk a coarser, uneven texture that is slightly knobbed, making it an excellent exfoliant.
How to Use:
- With the exception of the heart area, you may massage the entire body as well as the face.
- Use small circular brush strokes for the joints & long sweeping brush strokes for the limbs & torso.
- It is best to brush toward the heart to assist the movement of lymph in the body, applying as much pressure as comfortable.
- Exert more force in areas of fatty tissue & brush gently on sensitive areas.
- A tight elastic wrist prevents gloves from slipping during your massage.
