Every morning, Napoleon gets up at 7 a.m. and immediately calls his service people to carry out his toilet. It lasts nearly two hours, because, unlike his contemporaries, Bonaparte has impeccable hygiene. He shaves every day and does not want to call on a barber. In the military campaign, Napoleon takes with him all his toiletries: badger shaving brush, combs, razor, cologne bottles etc.
In 1808, to meet the Emperor's needs, Jacques-Louis and Marie-Hélène, the founders of Plisson, brushmakers, designed, thanks to their artisanal know-how and ingenuity, a beard brush also called a travel shaving brush, so Napoleon can take it everywhere with him in his toiletries and thus shave alone.
For more than two centuries with no interruptions, Plisson has been a leader in the shaving world, offering great French-made tools and care. In 2021, the brand released a complete clean and innovative skincare line for men, made in France with a minimum of 95% natural ingredients, making Plisson a new authority for men's beauty in general.
