You didn't think we could have a passion for a cereal? However, this is what happened to Françoise, the founder of Lorj.
Already when she was a child, she saw her grandmother prepare poultices and decoctions based on barley to treat some everyday ailments. This peasant, so humble but so rich in her ancestral knowledge of nature and healing plants, was Françoise's first source of inspiration.
Always, while contemplating the barley fields of her native Brittany, she has been struck by the elegance, power, nobility and authenticity that emerge from this plant.
For millennia we have known about barley its nutritional qualities, it feeds people and animals, and its medicinal virtues, it offers a concentrate of vitamins and minerals essential to their health.
The birth of this project will also come from a real family awareness of the consumption and origin of food, beauty or household products that Françoise uses on a daily basis. Children, who have become young adults, consume less and only healthy and natural products. They make the mother evolve... what could be more beautiful when it is the children who instill change. It's decided, Françoise starts.
This is how Françoise imagined creating a unique range of natural cosmetics, good for health and respectful of the environment. The only ones who use barley as an exclusive active ingredient.
